Field day is the highlight of the school year, and the right rentals turn a normal afternoon into the moment kids remember from elementary school forever. Absolute Fun Party Rentals helps Rhode Island PTOs, teachers, and athletic directors plan field day lineups that keep every grade moving from station to station.
Successful field days share a structure: rotating stations, age-grouped activities, and one or two "wow" units that become the photo backdrop. For most K-5 schools, that means a giant obstacle course as the headliner, two or three bounce houses or combo units sized to different grade groups, and a row of interactive carnival games for the in-between rotations.
Plan your inventory by class size and rotation length. A typical 25-minute rotation handles 25-30 kids per inflatable. So if your largest grade has 90 kids, you'll want at least three units running in parallel for that group, plus shade tents and a water station between rotations. Teachers love when there's a cool-down activity (a foam machine works wonders) right before lunch.
Booking should happen 4-6 weeks ahead for May and June dates — these are our busiest school weeks of the year. We provide a certificate of liability insurance and the safety documentation your district may require for inflatables on school grounds. If your field day moves to a town park, double-check the permit requirements with the parks department before locking the date.
On the day, our crew arrives early, sets up, and anchors every unit before the first bell. We can stage equipment to match your station map, leave blowers running discreetly, and sweep through at dismissal for pickup. PTOs often pair an obstacle course with carnival-style interactive games (corn hole, ladder ball, giant connect-four) and a few easy concessions like sno-cones or popcorn that volunteers can run all day.
The result is a field day that feels professional, runs on schedule, and leaves teachers actually able to enjoy it.
